Eircom uses mobile to promote WiFi hotspots campaign

As part of a campaign to promote broadband services for Irish telecommunications provider, Eircom, Púca has developed a mobile internet site allowing people to search and locate over free 1,000 WiFi hotspots by county or postcode.

The site is easy to access via the mobile internet and features a simple drop-down search function. Consumers simply text WIFI to 51500 to receive a link to their phone.

The above-the-line campaign encompasses TV, Outdoor and Print media and the integration of the SMS response mechanism allows Eircom to provide valuable and useful information to consumers in an engaging, convenient and accessible format.

A key benefit to Eircom is the ability to track and measure the effectiveness of their advertising channels based on the campaign results, allowing them to further refine their media strategy in future campaigns. Using Púca’s web-based reporting tools they can monitor the SMS response statistics by time, date, and advertising medium.
