Púca has helped charity organisations Concern and UNICEF raise over €80,000 in an SMS fundraising initiative to aid relief efforts in Haiti. Working with the Irish Cellular Industry Association (ICIA), which represents Ireland’s four mobile operators Vodafone, O2, Meteor and 3, Púca provided its services and platform free of charge to facilitate text donations of €5 each when customers send the keywords CONCERN or UNICEF to the 57500 shortcode.

Melanie Verwoerd, Executive Director, UNICEF Ireland said, "We’ve had a fantastic response to the texting campaign and it has raised vitally needed funds for our work on the ground in Haiti. With this support, UNICEF continues to reach children with more and more lifesaving support and protection every day."

Púca, along with the mobile operators, the Revenue Commissioners and Regtel each agreed to waive their normal fees and charges so that all of the monies raised from every premium text message goes directly to the charities to help with their relief efforts.

Púca was chosen  because of its secure, high-performance mobile platform and its experience in managing and operating high-profile mobile marketing and advertising campaigns for major brands and organisations.
