ONE, the charity organisation co-founded by Bono to fight extreme poverty, is running an SMS recruitment drive for new members. The campaign is being promoted as part of the U2 360° tour and ONE partnered with Púca for the Croke Park concerts.

Púca supplied ONE with two dedicated keywords run on a standard rate shortcode 51500 which were advertised during the U2 concerts in Croke Park over three nights. This enables ONE to not only create awareness of their campaign but also to recruit thousands of new members and capture their details. Concertgoers were prompted to text KISS or XX to show their support for the ONE campaign, and in the reply message were asked to send back their email address.

Both keywords were set up on Púca’s standard rate shortcode 51500 – the advantage of using this Púca shortcode is that it can also accept entries from UK.

This was a very useful feature for the Croke Park gigs due to the large number of people who traveled down from Northern Ireland and are on UK networks.

All data (mobile and email) is captured via Púca’s online reporting system to help ONE build up their database of members.

ONE is a global organisation set-up to fight extreme poverty and disease through campaigning and working closely with policy makers and activists. For more information please go to www.ONE.org.
