SMS & WAP PAYMENTS

SMS shortcodes are phone numbers, often around 5 digits long, which are used to address SMS messages from mobile phones. Shortcodes can operate on a wide range of tariffs from Freetext through to premium rate.

WAP billing or "click-to-pay" is the natural successor to Premium Rate SMS billing (PSMS).  The disadvantage of using PSMS for mobile internet transactions is that customers are forced to exit the site to send a separate PSMS message to a short code.  With WAP billing, customers can stay on the site and simply click to purchase the content, which clearly makes for a much improved, transparent and seamless customer experience.

Following the Payforit© standard, Púca's WAP billing system allows consumers to securely pay for content and services on a mobile site and enables merchants collect micro-payments of up to €10.
